Ph.D. 1996 Environmental Engineering, University of Texas at Austin
M.S. 1993 Environmental Engineering, University of Texas at Austin
B.S. 1990 Civil Engineering, Texas A&M University
B.A. 1990 Physics, Texas A &M University
Areas of Expertise:
Research interests include emissions measurement, air quality modeling,
and air pollution control technologies. Currently supervises students
conducting field measurement of on-road emissions, as well as lab
research concerning adsorption, photocatalytic oxidation, and
biofiltration of air pollutants.
Background:
Dr. Sattler teaches courses related to air pollution: Fundamentals of
Air Pollution, Air Pollution Chemistry and Meteorology, Air Pollution
Control System Design, Transportation & Air Quality, and Air Quality
Modeling. Her research interests include air pollution control
technologies (photocatalytic oxidation, adsorption, biofiltration),
emissions measurement, and air quality modeling.
Prior
to joining UTA full-time, Dr. Sattler spent 5 years in government
service and 1½ years in consulting. With the North Central Texas
Council of Governments, she assisted in development of the Dallas/Fort
Worth air quality State Implementation Plan and regional emissions
inventory, among other work. With Alan Plummer Associates, her primary
responsibilities were air quality field sampling and dispersion
modeling.
Dr.
Sattler is chair of the Science Advisory Committee for the Texas
Environmental Research Consortium, and a member of Air & Waste
Management Association, American Chemical Society, Association of
Environmental Engineering and Science Professors, and the American
Society for Engineering Education.
She is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
